Bonhomme Lodge #45
Missouri Masonic Lodge #45 (Bonhomme) had a site hosted by the Grand Lodge of Missouri with a number of problems:
- Contact requests went to the Missouri Grand Loge instead of Bonhomme Loge. This caused potential new members to wind up in other lodges.
- They couldn’t use their own domain name. Their site was a path off of the Missouri Grand Lodge site.
- They couldn’t serve any dynamic content.
- Site updates could only be performed via FTP.
- Because of the complexity of updating the site important updates were often late or not made at all.
- The site was dated and needed a more modern look.
Because Bonhomme Lodge is a non-profit with a limited budget, an entirely new Google apps site was created. This allowed easy updates without the need for hosting expenses. Calendar events can now be updated by simply adding an event to Google calendar. Because of the changes both the calendar and the trestleboard (newsletter) are now updated regularly making the site a valuable tool for the lodge.
